Camp Westerbork
During the Second World War, Camp Westerbork was a transit camp. From here, more than a hundred thousand Jews, Sinti and Roma were deported to concentration and extermination camps outside the Netherlands. Traces of the camp are still visible on the former transit camp site.
After the war, over two thousand Moluccan immigrants were accommodated in the barracks on the camp grounds. The name was changed from Camp Westerbork to Schattenberg.
Visit the camp grounds and learn more about the history of the camp at Westerbork Memorial.
