The largest hunebed
The largest ‘hunebed’, as these megalithic burial tombs or dolmen are called in Dutch, lies near the village of Borger. It has been there for at least 5,400 years. The best way to get a good idea of its impressive dimensions is by standing right next to it. The builders used specially selected stones with a round and a straight side. The largest stone weighs no less than 20,000 kilos!
