

Artist’ village Zweeloo
In the nineteenth century, artists travelled to Drenthe to paint and draw. Zweeloo was a favourite destination, visited by painters such as Vincent van Gogh, Max Liebermann, Jozef Israëls and Anton Mauve. They captured the old farmhouses, the surrounding landscape and the apple orchard in their work.
